Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Dal

Rinse dal well and pressure cook it with ¼ tsp turmeric and 1½ cups water for 3-4 whistles (or until soft and mushy).

Mash the cooked dal lightly and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Spinach Masala

Heat ghee or oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
